While manual attendance registers are one way to track these goals they are mostly found to be inefficient and ineffective. A study by the American Payroll Association shows that businesses that use manual attendance tracking spend 4 to 7 minutes per day per employee on average, for attendance management tasks. Another report by the Bureau of Labor Statistics highlights that US organizations lose billions of dollars annually because of time theft including tardiness and unauthorized breaks. Manual tracking methods seem to be insufficient in addressing and resolving these issues.
